Courtauld Institute of Art, University of London

The Courtauld Institute of Art is the major centre in Britain for the study of the history and conservation of art, with a strong international reputation.
Based in Somerset House in the heart of London, the Institute and its Gallery are close to a huge variety of major cultural institutions, unsurpassed research resources and other learning opportunities.
The Institute is a focused and friendly organisation, with approximately 400 students currently enrolled; roughly a third of these are studying on the BA History of Art programme.
The Institute’s position as an independent college of the University of London provides Courtauld students access to many of the research resources of the University of London and its constituent colleges, including the University Library at Senate House and those of other more specialised institutions.
