GrILH: Green ICT in London HEIs

The project on Green ICT in London HEIs (GrILH) is funded as part of the Green ICT programme by the Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC).

JISC logo

This project will assess the current state of Green ICT in London, drawing on the 40+ universities and higher education colleges which are members of London Higher.

Specific objectives for GrILH include:

  • baseline data on energy use and carbon emissions using the SusteIT Energy and Carbon Footprinting toolkit
  • categorise progress by London higher education institutions in Green ICT
  • generate case studies to illustrate best practices
  • raise awareness of Green ICT issues within the HE sector in London

We aim to understand progress towards Green ICT in the higher education sector in London and identify priorities for future research, networking and investment.
