Our current relationship with London schools
Our current relationship with schools and colleges is primarily managed by two departments – Widening Participation and the Department of Student Recruitment and International Development.
Widening Participation (WP)
The WP team offers a variety of activities designed to raise attainment and aspirations for learners in predominantly years 9-13. These vary greatly from short term activities such as master classes to longer term interventions of up to two years, for example Upward Bound and PIER 18. We have extensive links with Aimhigher Partnerships in LETG and WECAN and work directly with a number of boroughs on specific programmes. We lead and have a key involvement in many regional and national projects, including the Aimhigher Associate Scheme, Excellence Hubs and Capital L (Routes into Languages).
We also have long-standing links with many schools across London through our placement of PGCE students and CPD courses for teachers.

Student recruitment/schools and colleges liaison team
Our team offers a range of activities to support students progressing to higher education (HE), generally years 12 and 13 or equivalent. For example, we run a busy schedule of subject specific workshops and taster days, open days, talks on university life and workshops on preparing UCAS applications and personal statements.
Our team also manages the development of progression agreements with schools and colleges, facilitating the links across school and university departments to inspire and encourage students to progress to HE.
