About the event
NEON will be joining with the University and College Union to host an event as part of the Labour Party Conference Fringe.
Early this year, the Labour Party established an independent commission to produce a new vision of lifelong learning and the tertiary education system, to inform the party’s policies prior to the next election. The commission’s final report will be delivered this September, and this timely event will examine the radical vision of education outlined in the report, and how it can support the development of a more equitable and effective higher education system.
Speakers at the event include: Matt Waddup (Head of Policy & Campaigns, UCU), Graeme Atherton (Director, NEON), Gordon Marsden MP (Shadow Minister for FE, HE and Skills), with additional speakers to be confirmed. Guests are invited to help shape the progress of this important report and share views of what lifelong learning can and should mean in the early 21st centry.
Registration will not be required, but please arrive promptly to be guaranteed entry. This event is situated outside the secure zone.
