WHAT WE DO

The Visa Club is run in association with CarterThomas Solicitors, a legal firm specialising in immigration issues for higher education providers. This is a virtual network and the services provided are:

CURRENT INITIATIVES

Since the vote on the EU Referendum in June 2016, specific guidance and updates have been provided on residency requirements for EU students and staff.

From 2018 the following workshops have been held:

January 2018 ‘The student journey: from right to study to right to work’. Risk management processes for study visas and work conditions, with speakers from Anglia Ruskin University, University of Greenwich, Goldsmiths, University of London, and Carter Thomas Solicitors.

April 2018 ‘Immigration: how to be a compliant sponsor under Tiers 2 and 5 and other work related routes’.  Aimed at HR and immigration compliance staff, and led by speakers from Goldsmiths, University of London, and Carter Thomas Solicitors.  Attended by representatives from nearly 20 HEIs and organisations including some from outside of London.

January 2019 ‘Sponsorship under Tier 5‘.  Temporary visits and exchanges for academic researchers with 25 attendees and presentations from the event can be found below:
